Program Overview

The Multimedia Technology Program at Northern Westmoreland Career & Technology Center (NWCTC) combines creativity and technology, giving students hands-on experience in digital media production, design, and communication. Using industry-standard tools and Adobe Creative Cloud software, students learn to create professional-quality visual content for both digital and print media.

Students explore a wide range of topics including graphic design, illustration, digital imaging, photography, animation, and web design. Working in a studio equipped with Apple computers, photo and print production spaces, and recording areas, they learn to conceptualize, design, and produce creative projects that meet real-world standards. Emphasis is placed on problem-solving, technical proficiency, and clear visual communication.

Graduates leave the program with strong creative and technical skills, professional portfolios, and the opportunity to earn Adobe Certified Professional (ACP) credentials in one or more Adobe applications. With a foundation in design principles and digital media tools, students are well-prepared for postsecondary education or entry-level careers in graphic design, multimedia production, and related creative fields.

Student Expectations

Students enrolled in the Multimedia Technology Program are expected to:
