Auto Body & Collision Repair Program Overview

The Auto Body & Collision Repair Program at Northern Westmoreland Career & Technology Center (NWCTC) prepares students with the knowledge and hands-on skills to repair, refinish, and restore vehicles to pre-accident condition. Students gain experience using industry-standard tools, materials, and techniques while developing the professionalism, safety awareness, and craftsmanship valued in today’s automotive industry.

Training covers all aspects of collision repair, including damage analysis, frame and body repair, welding, painting, and refinishing. Instruction emphasizes precision and attention to detail while integrating modern technologies such as computerized estimating systems, advanced materials, and electric vehicle (EV) repair practices. Students also explore plastic and composite repair, glass replacement, and custom detailing to produce high-quality, professional results.

Graduates are prepared for entry-level positions as collision repair technicians, automotive painters, estimators, or refinishing specialists. Many continue their education or pursue apprenticeships to advance in the automotive repair and restoration field.

Student Expectations

Students in the Auto Body & Collision Repair Program are expected to:
